Great day (Oct. 13, 2011)

What a beautiful day! On fall break and mark took the day off so we brought the kids to shelby farms to ride bikes around the lake. Emma did so well for her maiden bike ride where there were people and turning. Those are her two biggest obstacles right now. :0) after that we went over to the park to let the kids climb and swing. The rope tree is quite intimidating. Emma's not fond of heights and she wasn't certain she wanted to do it, but after Jake told her he'd help her she gave in....Curiosity killed the cat! So up they went and at the top Jake waited. And waited. And waited for her to slowly reach the top. She did and he told her good job but then it was time to go farther across and to the tree house. I watched, for once, saying nothing. He so sweetly told her where to put her feet and where to put her hands to hold on. It was amazing to watch the complete and utter trust. He demonstrated many times and still he waited... She followed everything he said and made it across. Tears stung in my eyes as I watched these two sweet kids bonded forever. I hope they always rely and trust each other everyday just like today on those ropes. What a great day in a parents life.
